So here's myself
Hello world.\n
I am paolino. I am 29, born in June 1980 and live in Genova, Italy with my much beloved girlfriend.
I work as a software analyst and engineer in the R&D department of a cool job search engine.
I also have many hobbies and interests, such as music, writing, cooking, sharpshooting, airplanes and flight, reading and literature, and many many more. I also enjoy very much scientific education. That has been a hobby, an interest and also a job for me. On and off, I also write a blog about scientific education called Divulgazia. However that is in italian. You could say I am quite eclectic.
A brief history of me and my family
I was born at 1800z of the first of June, 1980. My parents are both physicians, being my father a cardiologist and internal medicine specialist and my mother an endocrinologist and internal medicine specialist as well. They work together in San Martino hospital in Genova. They retired at the end of 2007 and now they mostly enjoy their days between Genova and Morbello.
I have a brother just 17 months younger than I am. He also just got his Master's Degree in Computer Science in June 2007. He's very much into sports, too, both as a fan (soccer, mostly) and as a practicer. He is the webmaster of a site dedicated to his supported soccer team, Genoa CFC.
My dog is called Back (pronounce as rhyming with "luck"). He is a red bastard and we all love him very much. He was "found" by my brother in late December 1999 and the vet said he was less then a month old, so he should be now about nine years old.
In my spare time
My (quite little, alas) spare time I spend in many different ways. I like photography quite much (you can get a peek of some of my pictures on DeviantART). I play guitar and write music with my friend Walter EGO. I enjoy very much writing, mathematics, computer programming.
I find shooting guns quite relaxing. I know this can sound strange, but still. I enjoy both small calibre (like the .22LR) and the larger (as 9x21). But I only enjoy shooting to paper targets, that is no living thing. I find it quite a zen activity, anyways.
I really like Scuba diving. I am a PADI Open Water Diver, and waiting to finish my PADI Advanced Diver.
I am fond of airplanes, aircrafts and flight in general. The only thing keeping me away from a PPL is the amount of money needed to get one :( In the mean time I quite enjoy flight simulation and virtual ATC. I am a member of IVAO. Ehrm, actually I am not online with them since some time since I don't have anymore a M$-Windows machine where to run IvAC, the Ivao ATC Client. Which only runs on Windows. BTW, I volounteer to write a free platform-independent alternative to it, if anyone is interested (and has specs of the protocols and requirements), please let me know.
There are a lot of other things I enjoy doing, that just don't come to my mind right now :)
